- Healthy Eating?

Happy New Year! May 2008 be healthy, happy, and successful for you and yours.
The holidays are over and many people are now enthusiastically implementing their New Year's resolutions. And among the most popular resolutions are eating healthy and losing weight. The past few days have seen millions of Americans embark on all sorts of diets. I have friends starting cabbage soup diets, high protein diets, low-fat diets, raw food diets -- one friend even jokes about a sand and water diet.
All of these diets are merely attempts to lose a few pounds and eat healthy. Unfortunately, defining "healthy eating" is a bit tricky. Even the medical establishment can't agree on what exactly constitutes a healthy diet. In fact, the medical establishment cannot even agree as to the best ways to lose weight.
I am not a medical doctor and this blog isn't about dispensing medical advice. So, with that said, consult your own physician for proper expert medical and nutritional information. However, I will share with you my own plan for eating healthy in 2008.
* More fruits and vegetables
* Less processed foods
* Less sugar and sweets
* A good multivitamin (Nutrilite Double X)
* Consuming less calories
* Enjoying my food and eating slowly
No fads or gimmicks for me this year, just an attempt to limit the junk in my diet, eat less, and eat better. Here's to a year of healthy eating and living for all of us!
